Why Do People Get Scammed Online?

Today I would like to examine why people get scammed online so frequently.  There are billions of people in the world who would like to have financial freedom but without having to report to a manager whom he or she does not necessaWhy Do People Get Scammed Onlinerily want to report to.  That is the reason why so many people have turned to their computer with an internet connection looking for solutions.

I do not blame all those people who are looking a way out…as a matter of fact, I do support them because they are trying to find a way out of the struggle.  Unfortunately, though, many of these billions of people have been a victim of scams online and have not found any success.  Every day many fraudulent websites are created with the sole purpose of stealing honest people’s hard earned dollars.

Many of these websites look professional and can be very difficult to detect as a scam website.  However, there are signs that you can look for yourself to determine if the product or service that is on the site is legitimate.  Here are some points that you must consider before spending your money.

Do Your Research (Check For Reviews)

This should be obvious.  When you buy something anywhere, you usually inspect the item before you purchase, right?  You can use sites like google (because they are the best) and sites like RipoffReport.com. There you can search to see if the site and what they are promoting are legit.

Many Scam Sites Uses Spam e-mail To Scam People

Every day millions of spam emails are sent out targeting people, these emails promises that you can make thousands with the click of a mouse button, please do not fall for the most widely used trick in the book.  The truth is that there is no 1-click action on the internet that will generate thousands of dollars without hard work and dedication.

Read The Website Address Carefully

Many scam websites name their websites to make it seem legitimate, for example, a scammer can buy a domain name like googlesecuritydept.com to fool you into believing that they are associated with google and have you wrapped around their little finger.  Many people provide confidential information to these sites and end up getting scammed and losing their money and in some cases, their identities.

Check For Errors And Grammar

Usually a scam website is created with a lot of grammatical errors and typos.  The people who create these websites are not usually English speakers.  They are not precise in providing legitimate information for people who are viewing the website.  Their main purpose is to SCAM YOU, so they do not really care that much.  Usually, you will see a lot of flashy graphics on these websites as well.

Https VS Http

Whenever you decide to purchase anything on any website, it is important for you to know when your payment will be secured or not.  This is where https and HTTP come in.  Make sure that you see the https in your URL before proceeding with your credit card information or any other method of payment that you choose.  Look at the example below from the PayPal website which is 100% secure.

I’m laughing here as I remember an email that I got a year or two back. It was supposedly from the embassy of somewhere like Bhutan if I remember rightly. Not only did they offer me an enormous amount of money, but they warned me against what they called ‘fraud stars’. I use that expression to this day. I love it.
Thanks for the heads up on the scams that are out there and pointing us in the right direction toward some legit businesses. They are hard to find.

I know what you mean Owen. Sometimes the scams are so ridiculous, but unfortunately people are still falling for them. I want this post to reach as many people as possible so that they can avoid getting scammed. Most times it is because of desperation that people fall for these scams. Most times the people who fall for the scams know deep down that it is a scam, but is so desperate to make money. That is why they keep falling for it. Spread the word and let more people know what is going on.

Thanks Owen and all the best.
